Ingredient Policies

At Voodoo Tuesday we use only the best quality ingredients available to us. We do not use additives or fillers, or adulterate our food products in any other manner.

Ingredient Labelling

We follow the New Zealand & Australian guidelines for food ingredient labelling. Broadly, this means that we list all ingredients in descending order of weight in the food – i.e. the ingredient present in the greatest proportion appears first. And, although not required by law to list ingredients representing under 10%, we will always indicate if we have salt in a product, regardless of how trivial the proportion. After all, we like to be informed about what we eat, and we think you should be too.

Sugar & Salt

At Voodoo Tuesday we use these natural ingredients when it is suitable for achieving a particular taste or texture. Both add both flavour and balance to foods - sugar reacts to add flavour & colour at cooking temperatures (known as caramelisation), and salt us used to balance the palate.

While these ingredients are naturally-ocurring, we believe that eating a healthy, balanced diet is a vital part of everyones’ lives. Whereas both sugar and salt are part of a well-balanced diet, moderation is generally key. We endeavour to keep levels of either ingredient as low as possible – neither salt nor sugar is used excessively in any of our savoury or non-dessert spices or rubs.

We recognise that your diet may be special, or you would like to limit your intake of certain ingredients. To locate ingredient information, you may always refer to individual product labels or to the product-specific information on our website, where you will find ingredient listings in the order in which they occur.
